VACANCY : RESEARCH ASSISTANT AND TECHNOLOGIST
Minimum Qualifications: BS or equivalent 4 year degree from an accredited university; minimum (4) years experience in clinical research setting; English Level III proficiency in reading and speaking; writing preferred; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
Duties:
Conducts laboratory bench works in direct support of scientific and clinical projects;
Routinely executes sophisticated laboratory assays in Immunology, Cell Biology, Parasitology, Entomology; Enterics or Virology; maintains an accurate and complete record of work performed in laboratory notebooks or computers; and work is inspected by department heads.
Manages Source Documents (SD) and Case Report Forms (CRF) for clinical trials to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
Manages regulatory and administrative aspects of clinical trials in accordance with GCP standards.
Establishes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to guide regulatory and administrative aspects of clinical field trials.
Processes and archives clinical specimens.
Generates shipping and storage inventories.
Ships biological specimens in accordance with local and international requirements.
Manages database.
Liaises infectious disease surveillance and laboratory inventory tracking technology.
Responsible for the care of equipment and supplies, to include protection from environment, theft or damage.
Performs fieldwork when required.
Performs other duties as assigned by Department Head, Program Director, Principal Investigator or on-site DOD project coordinator.
