HR Director (Taiwan)
We are currently seeking a well-qualified candidate for the position of HR Director to be based in Taiwan for a leading global tobacco manufacturer. The role will work in a matrix organization with the local, Asian and International teams.
The incumbent will be a strong business partner for senior management and a competent contact and advocate for employees. He/she will have broad-gauged responsibility to lead a local HR team to oversee all human resources matters with a primary focus on organizational design, management development, compensation management and the recruitment, retention and development of high potential talent. Particular effort will be placed on the organisation’s business priorities and how to achieve and measure those results throughout the organisation.
Major responsibilities:
- Interprets and applies the strategic direction of the HR function with specific focus on Talent Management, Compensation and Benefits, Organisational Effectiveness and HR Administration.
- Provide counsel to General Management and Regional HR on issues of human resources and organisational development
- Implement a Talent Management framework starting with the assessment of management capabilities, identification of development gaps & opportunities to form succession plans
- Provide guidelines and oversee management of human resources activities, such as recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, training, and employee relations and resolve problems. Ensure that the company is deploying progressive, proven and cost-effective techniques to manage its human resources issues.
- Ensure emerging HR practices are adapted include work process design, internal communications, organizational structures, design of physical settings, dissemination of external information, and executive leadership development.
- Manage salary surveys, research local market practices to assess competitiveness of organization compensation philosophy, determining action plans
- Develop human resources budget and review status with each function on regular basis.
Requirements:
- Qualification in psychology, business administration or organization development. Masters preferred.
- At least 7 years of relevant working experience
- Strong track record of business partnering experience and managing in a multicultural environment in Asia
- Fluency in English, ability in Chinese will be a plus
- Ready to relocate to Taiwan
