sub-offices in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Padang.
Muslim Aid Yogyakarta is currently looking for a qualified and committed candidate to fill the following position:
1. Monitoring & Evaluation Field Assistant Duty Station:Yogyakarta, Indonesia
General functions:
Under the general guidance of the M&E Manager and the direct supervision of the M&E Supervisor, the M&E Field Assistant will be responsible for the following function:
1. Assist the M&E Supervisor to identify the key performance questions, indicators and parameters for monitoring programs/projects performance and achievement and compare it to the purposes and targets.
2. Assist in the preparation and development of questionnaires, formulating surveys, and other templates required for monitoring and evaluation activities.
3. Provide relevant information for the ongoing monitoring and evaluation activities and impact of the programs and comply with the regular reporting requirement.
4. Conduct field monitoring of target community groups, collate quantitative and qualitative data on individual and/or group of beneficiaries.
5. Assist the M&E Unit in ensuring effective beneficiary identification, verification and eligibility.
6. Assist the M&E Supervisor to schedule and conduct spot check, random surveys; and if necessary, comprehensive operational and programmatic assessment to project locations, end users and local
partners where appropriate.
7. Assist the M&E Unit in verifying the complaints received from the community if necessary
8. Identify constraints and issues, particularly in relation to the monitoring and evaluation process, and provide a solution if necessary.
9. Coordinate closely with the Information and Management Unit to ensure that the data provided by M&E and other Units are adequately recorded in the Central database.
10. In close coordination with Unit Heads to obtain the updated schedule, share and discuss the progress of the activities:
- Assist in undertaking initiatives to promote IOM’s image and activities in the earthquake affected region.
- Provide report to the M&E supervisor on daily and weekly basis using given template
- Act with integrity and professionalism and in accordance with IOM’s Code of Conduct, at all times
- At the request of the Line Manager or M&E Manager, participate in staff development and training processes.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by M&E supervisor.
Desired Qualifications:
- University degree, preferably in engineering, social science, administration, economic, or alternatively, combination of related education and professional experience.
- Previous and relevant experience working the community mobilization participatory approach, facilitation process, and/or monitoring evaluation activities.
- Ability to prepare quickly concise reports and input database
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office Package
- Experience working in International Organization or local NGOs
- Knowledge of statistical and quantitative methods
- Efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking, and punctual.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in team, individual and multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in the environment of the operating areas
- Fluency in Javanese and Intermediate level of English is required.
2. Database Assistant
Duty Station: Yogyakarta, Indonesia
General Functions:
Under the direct supervision of Project Assistant I (Administration & Data Management), and the overall supervision of the Business Development Coordinator, he/she will provide assistance in the
implementation of livelihood projects in earthquake-affected areas in Yogyakarta and Central Java. In particular, he/she will:
1. In close coordination with Project Assistant responsible for updating database in daily basis according to data collected in the field as well as carry out day-to-day data entry.
2. In close coordination with the Project Assistant, prepare and provide data to IOM central database
3. Assist the Community Engagement Unit in preparing, copying and filling various documents related to program activities.
4. Assist the Project Assistant in preparing periodic reports of the overall database.
5. Coordinate with the Project Assistant in protecting data access and its confidentiality, as well as maintain accurate database of beneficiaries
6. Coordinate with the Project Assistant to implement regular backups for
7. the database.
8. Undertake field visits to target communities for information gathering if
9. and when necessary;
10. Extend support to other units as per the request of the Project Assistant or Program Manager.
11. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- S1 degree in computer science, relevant administration study or a combination of relevant education and professional experience
- Previous experience in the field of data management and administration
- Strong familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) application
- Detail oriented, excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Efficient, flexible, punctual and demonstrated ability to work effectively under low supervision and with tight deadline.
- Previous experience in international organization and/or local NGO preferred
- Outgoing and people-oriented
- Knowledge of basic English is required.
3. Market Research Assistant
Duty Station: Yogyakarta, Indonesia
General functions:
Under the overall supervision of the Program Manager and the direct supervision of the Market Research Coordinator, the Market Research Assistant will be responsible to conduct market research on selected
economic sectors as part of the Java Reconstruction Fund (JRF) Livelihood project, implemented in Yogyakarta and Central Java. In particular, he/she will:
1. Assist the Market Research Coordinator to implement research activities, working closely with beneficiaries, communities, partners in government and civil society and other market players;
2. Execute data collecting activities for the selected economic sectors, including conducting literature studies, observations, interviews, questionnaire surveys, focus group discussions and other activities;
3. Carry out data entry of collected data during the data collection activities in a effective, efficient and user friendly manner;
4. Proactively participate in the data analysis and discussion in regards to the market research activities and results;
5. Draft high quality market research reports
6. Carry out regular documentation of general economic trends and market developments in the region that may affect or create opportunities on the selected sectors within the Java Reconstruction Fund project;
7. Working closely with the Community Engagement Unit on disseminating information in regards to the selected sectors;
8. Liaise and work closely with any consultants and/or partner organization in regards to market access initiatives under the Project;
9. Prepare and organize any workshop or seminar in order disseminate findings from the market research;
10. Contribute to on-going technical assistance and capacity building on market information for micro- and small enterprises beneficiaries under the Project;
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Market Research Coordinator/ Program Manager.
Desired qualifications:
- University degree, preferably in Social sciences or alternatively, a combination of related education and professional experience.
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in the livelihood sector and/or research.
- Good research skills and knowledge.
- Experience in conducting interviews, community facilitation, conducting surveys, and providing technical advice.
- Experience in preparation of reports and official correspondence.
- Computer literate (word-processing, spreadsheet, e-mail exchange).
- A high level of personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking.
- Fluency in Javanese is preferred; English ability is advantageous
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities and undertake assigned tasks with minimum supervision
- Able to work independently, and under pressure.
