Legal Officer
(Kalimantan Timur – Balikpapan)
Responsibilities:
-Manages all Indonesian legal affairs, i.e. pertaining to technical contracts (or contracts for operation), permits and litigation in Indonesia
-Provides necessary legal expertise to other division/departments within TI Jakarta & Balikpapan
-Coordinates where appropriate with headquarters in France (Paris & Pau) on the legal matters
-Maintains compliance with laws, regulations and standards and proposes innovative or creative solutions and manages unexpected or delicate situations within this framework
-Defends the interests of the company before the Indonesian Judicial Courts in case of litigation and manages relationship with relevant external counsels or law firms selected in conjunction with the Head of Legal Function
-Monitors the evolutions of regulations in Indonesia and advice management properly on potential impacts to the company
-Liaises and ensure proper coordination with law enforcement bodies or other governmental institutions or agencies (such as BPMIGAS)
Requirements:
-Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent.
-Fluent in English.
-At least 5 year(s) of working experience, preferably in oil and gas industry.
